Ingredients (for approx. 2–3 servings):
- 1 pack of SIR POTATO – blanched potato cubes (450 g)
- 1 small onion
- 1–2 tbsp butter (or clarified butter – ghee)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped chives or parsley
Method:
1. Simple potato preparation:
- Open the pack of SIR POTATO (450 g).
- No need to rinse the potatoes – they have already been washed several times during production.
- Pour them into a colander and let drain for 2 minutes at room temperature.
2. Prep work:
- Finely chop the onion.
- Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the onion until golden.
3. Heating the potatoes:
- Add the potatoes to the sautéed onion.
- Heat over low heat for about 5 minutes – stir gently so they don’t fall apart.
4. Mashing:
- Use a potato masher to lightly mash the potatoes – they should remain only partially crushed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Optionally add chopped chives or parsley.
Serving tips:
- Perfect as a side dish for meat, meatballs, or even as a main course.
- For extra flavor, add crispy bacon or tofu.
- Also suitable for children – with less salt and a bit of butter, it’s a nutritious and simple meal.
